RELATIVE AND OTHER PRONOUNS

A relative pronoun is a word that introduces a dependent (or relative) clause and connects it to an independent one.

A clause is a group of words in a sentence containing a subject and a verb forming either a complete sentence or part of a sentence.

There are two main types: Independent clauses, which can stand alone since they form a complete thought, and dependent clauses, which cannot stand alone and must be attached to an independent clause to make sense, a relative pronoun is that specific word that introduces and links dependent clauses to independent ones.
